Royal Caribbean prices the Deluxe Beverage Package dynamically - we observed $43.99 to $121 per person per day across the fleet in 2026 - and adds 18% at checkout. Here is the honest break-even, from official rules and real observed prices.

The worked example, priced both ways

Wonder of the Seas, 7 nights, 2 adults, 3 drinks a day each, 2 specialty meals each, Wi-Fi on 1 device. The rules (18%, $14 cap, gratuity tiers) are official; the dollar prices are observed 2026 values because Royal Caribbean publishes none.

What you pay for Pay as you go With Deluxe Beverage
Daily gratuities $259 ($18.50 x 7 nights x 2 adults) $259 (still charged)
Bar drinks (3 a day each) $594.72 ($12 avg + 18%) Included (up to $14 a drink)
Specialty dining (2 meals each) $292.64 ($62 cover + 18%) $292.64 (not covered)
VOOM Wi-Fi (1 device) $167.93 (observed $23.99 a day) $167.93 (not covered)
Package price - $1,470 ($89 x 7 x 2, with the 18% added at checkout)
Total $1,314 $2,190 (observed range $1,958-$2,718)

At 3 drinks a day the package costs $876 more on this trip.

Royal Caribbean publishes no package price. $89/day is our observed 2026 midpoint for Wonder of the Seas (flagships $89-$121; fleet-wide $43.99-$121, median about $72). The range on the total shows the same trip at the observed extremes. The $12 average drink and $62 cover are observed 2026 values too - never "published" rates.

The break-even facts

  • 8 drinks per adult per day at $89/day: both sides carry the same 18% gratuity, so it cancels - $89 divided by the $12 average drink is 7.4, and the first whole number where the package wins is 8.
  • Cheaper sailings break even sooner: the drinks-per-day bar drops with the price, and we observed the fleet as low as $43.99. Your Cruise Planner quote sets your real bar.
  • There is NO daily drink limit - Royal Caribbean confirms it. The cap is per drink: $14, and you pay the difference on pricier pours.
  • Every adult of legal drinking age in the cabin must buy it if one does - and the old non-drinker/medical exception was eliminated effective August 1, 2025.
  • For lighter drinkers the Refreshment Package exists (observed $29-$42 a day plus 18%), but since August 2025 an adult in a Deluxe cabin can no longer swap down to it.

What the Deluxe package includes - and what it does not

From the official package terms and 2026 policy updates.

Included

  • Cocktails, beer, wine, and spirits up to $14 a drink (you pay the difference above)
  • Premium coffee and tea
  • Fresh-squeezed juices
  • Non-alcoholic frozen drinks
  • Bottled water

Not included / watch for

  • The 18% gratuity - added to the package price at checkout on top of the listed daily rate
  • Specialty dining, Wi-Fi, and daily gratuities - all billed separately
  • Drinks over $14 - you pay the difference
  • Since March 15, 2026: the Coca-Cola Freestyle cup and machine access are no longer included (the cup sells onboard for $4.99)
  • Sharing: one drink per guest per service - the package cannot be shared

The gratuity details most comparisons get wrong

  • The Cruise Planner price you see is BEFORE gratuity: 18% is added at checkout, so $89 a day really bills about $105. Most comparison tables quote the pre-gratuity number and understate the real cost by 18%.
  • Dining packages bought pre-cruise are gratuity-INCLUSIVE - but a la carte specialty checks get 18% auto-added, which turns Wonder's $62 cover into $73.16.
  • Daily gratuities are separate from all of this: $18.50 per person per day ($21 in full suites), charged for ALL ages including infants.
  • Entering a quote somewhere? Type the listed per-person-per-day price BEFORE the 18%. If you typed the checkout total instead, divide it by 1.18 first.

How exact is this page?

Royal Caribbean publishes no dollar price for the Deluxe package. Every dollar figure here is an observed 2026 price shown with its spread; the rules (the 18%, the $14 cap, the all-cabin requirement, no daily limit) are official. For your sailing, the only exact number is your own Cruise Planner quote - the calculator accepts it, switches that scenario to exact mode, and drops the range.

Real questions, straight answers

How many drinks a day make the Deluxe Beverage Package worth it?

About 8 per adult per day at Wonder of the Seas pricing - $89 a day against a $12 average drink, with the 18% gratuity riding both sides and canceling out. At the cheaper prices we observed across the fleet (down to $43.99, median about $72), the bar is lower. Your Cruise Planner quote sets your exact number.

Is the 18% gratuity included in the price shown?

No. The Cruise Planner shows a pre-gratuity daily rate, and 18% is added at checkout - so an $89-a-day package really bills about $105 a day. Any honest comparison has to use the after-gratuity number.

Does everyone in the cabin have to buy the drink package?

Every guest of legal drinking age in the stateroom must buy it if one does. The formerly documented exception for non-drinkers was eliminated effective August 1, 2025 - there is no exception anymore.

Is there a daily drink limit on the Deluxe package?

No - Royal Caribbean confirms there is no daily quantity limit. The cap is per drink: $14, and on drinks above the cap you pay the difference. One drink per guest per service, and the package cannot be shared.

What does the Deluxe Beverage Package cost in 2026?

Royal Caribbean does not publish it. We observed $43.99 to $121 per person per day across the fleet in 2026 (median about $72; flagships like Wonder, Utopia, and Icon $89-$121), always plus 18% at checkout. It changes by sailing and sale - your Cruise Planner is the only exact price.

Does the Deluxe package still include the Coca-Cola Freestyle cup?

No. Effective March 15, 2026 the Freestyle cup and machine access were dropped from the package; the cup sells onboard for $4.99.
