Most cruise sites tell you what's included. We tell you what isn't, and where the real money goes on a typical 7-night sailing.
Added to every cabin unless you prepay or contest it. Princess calls it "crew appreciation", $18/day for interior, oceanview, and balcony; $20/day for suites. 2026 rate.
Princess MedallionNet is per-device. Plus covers 1, Premier covers 4. A couple wanting 2 devices on Plus pays extra.
"Free at Sea" isn't actually free. The Beverage perk carries a mandatory daily gratuity. Multiply by 2 guests × 7 nights = $399.
The Catch (Princess Sphere-class) and Chops Grille (RCI Oasis) both hover around $60 in 2026. NCL Prima-class standardized to $60 too (Le Bistro, Cagney's, Palomar). Plus the auto-gratuity on top.
These are real midpoints from current cruise-line materials. The calculator plugs them into your specific trip. The journal breaks down each category with sources.
